Why I do the things I do…

Sure, I am a same-sex wedding photographer but I am also an activist and artist. I believe art has the power to drive real change. Part of my work as the social photographer involves donating my time and working with communities to merge activism and art to drive positive change. Photography allows me to put a face to the people effected, to tell stories that would otherwise remain untold or lost in the noise.

There will always be rally’s for change and they have their place, but photography takes away the noise. From 2014 to 2016, I worked on a photographic petition for LGBTIQ marriage equality, The In Bed Project.

The photos and stories shared in this project are powerful statements to offer hope for those challenged by the homophobic debate and profile the support of the Australian Community.

Thanks again to everyone who participated in making this historical project. In 2016 after a very successful Midsumma Exhibition, the In Bed Project was archived by the National Library of Australia Pandora Archive.

be the change that you wish to see in the world.
