Why I do the things I do…

I have always believed that art has the power to make change possible. Part of my work as the social photographer is connecting communities and merging social activism and art for change. Photography allows you to put a face to issues, to tell stories that would otherwise remain untold and lost in the noise.

There will always be rally’s for change and they have their place, but art takes away the noise and reveals the everyday people effected. From 2014 to 2016, I worked on a photographic petition for marriage equality, The In Bed Project.

The In bed Project,  was inspired by John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 1969 Bed-In for Peace.

The photos and stories shared in this project are powerful statements to offer hope for those challenged by the homophobic debate and profile the support of the Australian Community.

Thanks again to everyone who participated in making this historical project. In 2016 after a very successful Midsumma Exhibition the In Bed Project ended.

be the change that you wish to see in the world.
