Frequently Asked Questions

Some things you need to know and some things you might want to know…

What is your photo style?

My style of photography is  photo-journalistic. What does that mean? It means I don’t run around posing everyone, instead I become part of your day, part of what’s going on, a quiet observer of things. I know that your life is bigger than a one dimensional moment and it’s my job to capture a splice of the bigger picture and make sense of it.  All the love, the smiles, the tears and the joy. All the unguarded moments.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A 50% deposit will secure your date.  All deposits are non-refundable.

When is full payment required?

Full payment is required two weeks prior to your photo date.

What do you mean when you say an “on location” photo-shoot?

An on location photo shoot simply means, I work in the real world, not in a studio. I will travel to your home or your favorite place. The world is your oyster, so take me to your favorite place –  if it’s the beach that’s where we’ll go, if it’s isle 10 at Coles that’s where we’ll go. That’s what on location means.

What if my location is outside the included travel zone?

All my photo packages include a free travel zone in the fixed fee. However, if your favorite location is outside the free travel zone for your selected package, for example, you want to travel to NSW or NYC, the location is classified as non- local and it will incur additional travel fees, like airfares, accommodation etc. We can discuss this when you get in touch

Is there a surcharge for public holidays?

Yes, there is a 20% surcharge on all packages.

Will you travel between different locations on the day? (ie from brides home to grooms etc)

Of course I will. Important note: – Remember to allow travel time between each location when you are planning your day and considering how many hours you will require me.

How many digital images will I receive?

It varies depending on your package – but you will receive every image that has passed the Lisa test. That means it has been edited, it demonstrates my photo-journalistic style and is up to my exacting professional standard. (Please note – while you will not receive all the images –  you will receive the best ).  As an indication: 4 hour Wedding –  approx 100 digital images. Full day Wedding –  approx 200 digital images. Family portrait – approx 30 digital images.

You will receive your fully edited, professionally finished digital images via Dropbox in both high-resolution (suitable for printing enlargements) and low-resolution for unlimited social media sharing.

When will I receive my digital images?

Portrait sittings – within 7 – 10 days
Weddings – within 2 to 3 weeks.

What is the best time to schedule a photo date?

Please note all outdoor sessions must take place within 2 hours of sunset. Think… Search light VS Candle light.
Early morning or late afternoon is best. The light at this time is your friend. Avoid harsh mid-day sun… it is not your friend.

Videographers vs Photographers.

If you’re going to book a Videographer make sure they’re nice. We’ll both be vying for the best shot, so a videographer that knows how to share is a good choice. Choosing the “nice videographer and nice photographer” combo ensures you’ll end up with a great video and photo story.

Do you do prints?

Yes I do… Prices as per package or you can purchase individually.

Do you do a Wedding Album?

YES!  The Album I use, holds 100-200 images and costs $880. It contains the same images you will receive via Dropbox. All the images in the album will match the events of your big loved up day. It tells your story beautifully, the cover features YOU and it looks and feels awesome. PLEASE NOTE: There is no proofing with this service. Why no proofing? Because proofing is a time weighted and expensive exercise. No proofing saves you time and money and you still get an awesome album!

Will we get a chance to meet you before the big day?

Definitely! If we’re going to be spending time together, we need to like each other. Nothing worse than a stuck up photographer prancing around ruining your big day, or a Bridezilla taking all the fun out of my work. A catch up over a wee beverage and we’ll soon know if we’re made for each other.

Who owns the (c) Copyright of the photographs?

Copyright in the photographs remains with the photographer. But you can use the photos to share on Social Media and you can print as many as you need for personal, non-commercial use.  All the legalities are covered in my booking form.
