Allegra’s Catholic Christening – St Dominic’s – Camberwell

I have photographed many Greek Orthodox Christenings but until Allegra’s baptism I had never photographed a Catholic Christening.

Allegra’s christening was held at St Dominic’s Catholic Church, Camberbell. What a stunning piece of architecture. For all you like-minded architecture buffs: St Dominic was built in 1936-37, architect unknown, probably the last Gothic church ever built in Melbourne. (Ref: Melbournes Buildings)

Allegra’s mum is Greek and her dad is Irish. The differences between a Greek Orthodox  baptism and a Catholic baptism is huge. The similarities between the two? Family friends and love!!!
