When Avi and Andrew contacted me to photograph their Same-Sex Wedding, at the Federal Cafe in Geelong, I knew it was going to be a very special day. They had planned this day for years. Avi’s mum and dad and family were going to make the long haul flight from South Africa to share in the day. Then Avi’s mum became unwell and passed away.
Weddings are emotional occasions. It’s a time when we not only celebrate our commitment to our relationship, but also reflect on the people that matter most to us – past and present.
Yes there were tears, but there was also joy in the room, after all, two madly in love men were finally getting married!
On World Aids Day, (December 1) Avi and Andrew celebrated their love surrounded by family and friends, both past and present.

“Can I give Lisa 6 stars? 7? She deserves them all. The photographs she took of our wedding were spectacular. Each one capturing a moment, a look, a smile and more than a few will make you cry.
Not only that, but Lisa was the best possible wedding photographer: seemingly everywhere but never noticeable. She has the most uncanny ability to be in the right place at the right time to capture the perfect moment.”
