It was a beautiful spring day in Melbourne, filled with love and sunshine and one very bright newborn star, when we took these family photos. I first met Joss and Elvira while working on my In Bed Project. Initially they were shy about having their photo taken, but wanting to show their support for marriage equality they boldly faced their fear and joined the project. According to them, I made the photo session fun. So later when they decided to get married at the Melbourne Zoo, they asked me to photograph their “big loved-up” wedding. And now here’s Rufus. Beautiful beautiful Rufus. Next up – newborn photography, Fitzroy style. Joss and Elvira still dislike having their photograph taken and I am always respectful that. I’m also very aware that I’ve been given a great privilege entering into such a personal space, sharing such private and personal moments. So, thanks again Elvira and Joss for inviting me into your life to capture these milestone moments.
